Riverside Community Development

Discover Riverside
The City of Riverside is a unique fourth class city located within the Kansas City Metro Area in the southeast corner of Platte County. The Missouri River defines the county's western and southern borders. A new levee has recently been completed and a beneficial revenue partnership with the Argosy Casino has helped create a surge in economic opportunities.

Expansion and Growth
Currently, Riverside is proactively encouraging economic development through an extensive capital improvement plan, guided by our award winning Master Plan. The City is poised for a major economic expansion with several development projects on the table, including Downtown Revitalization, South Downtown Projects, Upper Gateway Projects and the exciting Horizons Projects.

NOAA Weather Radios Available

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) weather radios provide constant, up-to-date weather information, and give alerts from the National Weather Service during severe weather. The City of Riverside is partnering with the Metropolitan Emergency Managers Committee (MEMC), Price Chopper Stores and Midland Radio to sell NOAA Weather Radios through the City for $29.95. The radios will be available at the Office of Emergency Management in the Public Safety building, located at 2990 NW Vivion Road, during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
