Argosy Parkway Now Open
Wednesday, January 7th, 2009Motorists now have a new way to get to the Argosy Casino/Hotel and Spa. Argosy Parkway, which runs from the I-635 interchange at Horizons Parkway east to Argosy, opened last Tuesday. Although the road is ready for cars, a few finishing touches are still in the works. At last night’s Board of Aldermen meeting, the city engineers estimated that the streetlights would be turned on January 8 and striping would happen in the next few weeks depending on the weather. An official opening ceremony for the road will be held this spring.
Fast Fact: Between 2:30 p.m. January 5 and 8:30 a.m. January 6, 664 cars travelled west on Argosy Parkway and 491 cars travelled east.
