Riverside Parks and Recreation
Renner Brenner Park
Renner Brenner Park is located directly across from city hall at 2901 N.W. Vivion Rd., Riverside, MO. This unique Riverside park is the only park on the National Register of Historic Places in the Midwest.
Historical registration was given for the unusually rich concentration of ancient Indian artifacts located there. The current park was the site of a 13-year excavation during the 1980's and 90's. Historical markers highlight historical facts.
Renner Brenner Park is named after two of the pioneering families to settle the area and their children. Carolina Brenner married Leslie Renner and this park was part of the parcel of land given to them by Carolina's father, John. The Renner's home still stands.
Renner Brenner Park now features a large playground area, an amphitheater, a gazebo overlooking Line Creek, a shelter house, a skate park and public restrooms. Many of these amenities can be reserved by the public. For reservations please contact the Community Center at 816-741-4172, Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
