Riverside Parks and Recreation
Trail System
Missouri Riverfront Trail
Trail Hours
The MRT is open daily from dawn to dusk. Any changes to the trail hours will be posted at either trailhead, as well as on the City of Riverside Web site.
Trail Closures
Since a portion of the trail is located on the levee, it is sometimes necessary to close portions of the trail for levee maintenance. Closure notifications will be posted at each trailhead, on either side of the closed section of the trail, and on the City of Riverside Web site. Questions about the closure can be directed to the City of Riverside: 741-3993 during business hours and 741-1191 after hours.
Trailhead Locations
The west trailhead is located off the south side of Highway 9 between Riverside and Parkville, one street east of Mattox Road. A designated parking lot is available at this site for trail users. Directions can also be found using Google Maps by searching “West Trailhead– Missouri Riverfront Trail.”
The east trailhead is located in Riverside’s EH Young Riverfront Park, 1001 Argosy Parkway. Follow the park sidewalk past Argosy to U.S. 69. Travel south on the shoulder of the highway access ramp to the trail access point that is atop the levee.

Who do I call? If your power is out, please call KCPL at 1-888-544-4852 (1-888-LIGHTKC). They will make note of the outage and respond as soon as possible.
Should I call the City or report it to 9-1-1 also? No. City staff or the 9-1-1 operators are usually aware of the outage already. Calling 9-1-1 may clog phone lines for those who need to report a true emergency.
But doesn’t the City have access to people at KCPL who can get it fixed faster? Only for life-threatening situations. City staff and 9-1-1 operators must report general power outages to KCPL like everyone else to the number that is provided above.
