Trash Pick Up - Easy, Convenient, FREE!

For all single-family Riverside residents, trash pick up is another FREE service provided for you by the Public Works department of the City of Riverside. This program is a part of our continuing process to provide for the betterment our community. You will not receive a bill from Deffenbaugh for your normal trash pick up.

What day is trash picked up?
Your pick up day is Friday. All waste must be bagged or bundled, weighing no more than 65 pounds and must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. Trash must be placed on the ground. Trash will not be removed from trailers, trucks, cars, etc. All trash must be visible from the street and not blocked by parked vehicles or other items that may restrict the crew's ability to move.

What happens on holidays?
Trash is picked up on all holidays except New Years Day, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Should one of these holidays fall on or before your normal pick up day, your waste will be picked up the following day, that is, Saturday.

What containers should I use?
Please keep containers smaller than 32 gallons. Please no plastic, metal or cardboard barrels. Large 55-gallon barrels will not be emptied.

Will yard debris be picked up?
Yard debris will not be picked up. Yard waste can be taken to Public Works for disposal.
