Riverside is turning 60. And we have just one birthday wish this year: Do good. Everyone. For anyone.

Plant a tree, rescue a puppy, buy a stranger a cup of coffee – whatever you’re into. It’s up to you to decide how to do good. It’s up to us to encourage, support and applaud you along the way. Just take pictures, shoot a video or write down what you did and how it made you feel. Then share it with us and we’ll share it with the world. Those who do good will be handsomely rewarded. Happy birthday to us.


How to Participate

1. Get out there and do some good! Let us know about your plans ahead of time and we’ll be glad to supply you with “Do Good” shirts and signs to use. Contact us at DoGood [at] riversidemo [dot] com or give us a call at (816) 372-9023. You can also download posters and logos below.

2. Share your story! Submit your stories, pictures and videos to us using one of these methods:

  • Upload directly to the City of Riverside Facebook Page (facebook.com/riversidemo)
  • Tag us! Tag City of Riverside on Facebook, use the hashtag #riversidedogood, or tag YouTube videos with “Riverside” and “Do Good”
  • Email us at DoGood [at] riversidemo [dot] com (subject: Do%20Good%20Campaign)
  • Deliver your items to City Hall, 2950 NW Vivion Road.

3. Get a move on it! We’ll be collecting and highlighting your good deeds from May 1 through November 30. Prizes will be awarded at the Holiday Lighting Ceremony in early December.

What goes around comes around. Everyone who shares what they’ve done to “do good” in the community will receive a little token of our appreciation, but we’ll also have special prizes and recognition for the good deeds that are the most creative, make the biggest impact, and are selected as winners of the “people’s choice” contest. Sixty good deeds will also be featured throughout the summer as examples of what Riverside residents, businesses and friends are doing to make our community a city that’s truly upstream from ordinary!
