"On behalf of the Girls on the Run – Serving KCMO (Jackson, Clay and Platte Counties), I’d like to thank the City of Riverside for your support of our luau fundraiser run on July 25, 2011. The girls and their guardians all dressed alike and looked amazing!! I know they had a blast! One girl was the little sister of a Riverside GOTR-girl, who had never done anything like that before… I got to witness she, her mom and big GOTR-sister embrace at the finish line, while a couple of tears were shed  The girl said she was proud of herself… it’s moments like that when I know GOTR is changing lives! With the funds raised on July 25 and at other events like our 5Ks, we are able to reach more lives year after year."
