A Safe Haven for Newborns
You have a safe choice. Instead of abandoning or putting your baby in danger, hand your baby to someone at a Safe Haven. In Missouri, a person stating they are a parent may leave their baby in the hands of staff at a police station, fire station, ambulance station or hospital. The Riverside Department of Public Safety, 2990 NW Vivion Road, is a Safe Haven for Newborns. For more information on the program, dial 2-1-1 or 1-866-320-5764.
Crime Free Multi-Unit Housing Program
The Crime Free Multi-Unit Housing program is a crime prevention program designed to reduce crime, drugs and gangs on apartment properties. The program was developed in 1992 in Mesa, Arizona and has spread to nearly 2,000 cities across the United States and Canada. In Riverside, apartment managers can complete the three-phase certification program under the supervision of the Police Division, and after successful completion, the property will be certified in the Crime Free Multi-Unit Housing Program.
