Riverside Accepts Parkville's Recycling Rivalry Challenge

Two words: It’s on. The City of Parkville issued a challenge to the City of Riverside in September to see which community will have the most participation in the October 1 Household Hazardous Waste: ABOP Event and the November 5 E-Waste and Paper Shred Event, both at EH Young Park. The cities joined together to co-sponsor these events as part of the Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District’s 2011 Recycling Challenge. In addition to hosting events like these, cities were encouraged to challenge one another in a Recycling Rivalry Challenge.

We are competing to see which city will have the most people participate in each of these events and which city will have the most items/tons recycled at each event. So gather your antifreeze, batteries, paint, oil, old electronics and paper to be shredded and head down to EH Young Park for these events!
