City of Riverside Municipal Pool

Come enjoy the outdoor swimming pool. With 3,750 sq. ft. there's plenty of room for everyone. The pool features a shallow, zero-entrance for the little ones, diving boards for the bigger kids and a splash & play area for everyone. Whether you're enjoying the cool water or lounging while you watch the kids, you'll love our friendly, fun facility.

Pool Season:
May 26, 2012 - September 3, 2012

Summer Hours:
Monday-Friday - 12 to 8 p.m.
Saturday - 12 to 8 p.m.
Sunday - 12 to 6 p.m.
*If inclement weather occurs, the pool will close and remain closed for the rest of the day.

School Hours (starting August 13):
Monday-Friday - 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday - 12 to 8 p.m.
Sunday - 12 to 6 p.m.

Admission:
12 years of age or older - $3.00
3-11 years of age - $1.00
*All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by someone age 14 or older. A swim test is also required for kids under the age of 14.

Family Season Pass (Riverside Residents) $75

Individual Season Pass (Riverside Residents) $50

Swim Lessons:
The City of Riverside, in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, offers free swim lessons for residents at the municipal pool. 

Swim Test:

Children 14 years of age and under must participate in the evaluation process.

The evaluation process consist of the following:

  • Jump in feet first into the deep end of the pool or submerge using the wall for assistance.
  • Swim the length of the pool on your stomach without assistance. This can be on the surface of the water or underwater.
  • Climb out un-assisted.

Green wrist bands:

  • Children with a green wrist band on may swim anywhere in the pool.
  • Children 14 and under must be supervised by an adult over the age of 14. The supervising adult must be present on the pool deck at all times.

Red wrist bands:

  • Must be in designated area or within arms reach of an adult over the age of 16
  • Children 5 and under with a red band on must be within arms reach of an adult over the age of 16. This means the adult needs to be in the pool.
  • Children 14 and under must be supervised by an adult over the age of 14. The supervising adult must be present on the pool deck at all times.
