When Will the Missouri Riverfront Trail Reopen?

The Missouri Riverfront Trail was closed in late June due to rising waters and to accommodate the increased vehicle traffic on the trail as the Levee District and Corps of Engineers utilized it to monitor river levels. Although the Missouri River has dropped below “action stage,” water still covers some portions of the trail. Based on current conditions and the clean up that will be required on and along the trail, the City of Riverside, with input from the Levee District, has made the decision to keep the entire trail closed until the water is off the trail and clean up is complete.

The trail will be reopened for two special events in the coming months: the Riverfest Run in late September and the Jeff Taylor SAFE Run in November. Trail use during these events will be carefully monitored and all participants will be required to stay on the trail.
