Animal Control

The Animal Control Officer for the City of Riverside is responsible for patrolling the City to search for animals running at large, investigate complaints of animal cruelty and respond to calls and complaints regarding vicious, deceased, stray or diseased animals.  The Animal Control Unit enforces city and state animal control laws, interprets and explains ordinances that relate to the care and keep of domestic animals, and protects citizenry from any wildlife that threatens our community.

To report roaming animals or animals that need to be removed from the roadside, please contact Animal Control at (816) 741-1191.  Please be sure to give your name, your phone number, a description of the animal and its last known location.
